Shaina Davidson
Shaina’s passion for health and fitness began on the basketball court where she spent most of her time right through grade school. Throughout those years she dealt with recurring ankle injuries that often left her on the sidelines which did not sit well with her competitive spirit!
She dedicated many hours to rehabbing her injuries to get back on the court thus developing an interest in biomechanics and strength training. During her off-seasons and as part of her rehab processes, she began training for half marathons and quickly fell in love with the sport, even braving frigid Alberta winters to keep to her running schedule.
After graduating high school Shaina took a gap year as she felt conflicted with various career choices. During this time she realized she needed to fill the time previously taken up by competitive sport with something else and found herself in the gym having fun experimenting with different workout styles and movement patterns.
All the pieces finally clicked together when Shaina began studying Kinesiology at the University of Alberta. Not only did she finally get to dive deeper into biomechanics and physiology but Shaina grew a special interest in the psychological aspects behind physical activity and behavior change.
Completing three-quarters of her University degree during a global pandemic was certainly different than what she had expected. Quarantining at home forced her to experiment with different forms of exercise, eventually leading her to seek training in Clinical Pilates. Shaina completed her practicum at a clinic specializing in Clinical Pilates to help make movement accessible to patients from all walks of life. Even without the equipment, don’t be surprised if Shaina whips out a few Pilates-esque movements during your training sessions.
Shaina’s goal for her clients is to get them to cultivate a love for movement that extends beyond the confines of a gym and is a practice that can be carried with them through any phase of life.
If she’s not running along the seawall, on her yoga mat, or in the gym, you can find Shaina pinned to the couch in head-to-toe Boston Celtics gear cheering on her favorite team alongside her Lakers-loving husband. Shaina looks forward to getting to know all of you and is so excited to join the West Coast Kinetics Team!

Ms. Lydia-Rose Kerouac-Dube Registered Kinesiologist
Lydia-Rose’s love of movement started at the age of three when she began dancing. She joined a competitive dance group at the age of seven and danced at a provincial and national level up until the age of eighteen. Her love of biomechanics within movement was the main reason that propelled her to graduate with a degree of Science with a specialty in Active Rehabilitation and Exercise Prescription from Simon Fraser University in 2015.
She volunteered as an athletic therapist for the Varsity women’s soccer team as well as worked in the fitness centre throughout her five years at the university. Lydia-Rose was initially drawn to physiotherapy but halfway through her degree, she realized that correcting movement partners and optimizing body awareness were an essential part of injury prevention and she fell in love with teaching others about this passion of hers.
While Lydia-Rose’s sessions focus on exercises and functional movement partners, she believes holistic fitness can be achieved in just more than a gym setting. Any type of activity that gets you up and moving is golden in her eyes and she herself is dedicated to enjoying activities such as walking, hiking, skiing and swimming.
While you will be hard-pressed to find Lydia-Rose indoors on a sunny day, you can find her doing fun HIIT workouts at the gym, going to spin class or attending Jiu Jitsu, which she does 3-4 times /week. She hopes to inspire her clients to achieve the same balance of gym-based exercise and outdoor activities within their lives in order to obtain a readily sustained active lifestyle.
